Women's Journey to Guatemala: December 17th to January 6th

Kathleen will lead a trip of not just a lifetime but a trip of lifetimes! This journey coincides and works with the Mayan 20 day calendar and the energy of each day within the participants as well as on the outer with the sacred sites and places visited for that day. The first part of the journey includes the Winter Solstice at Tikal with Mayan Elders and fire ceremonies. This journey is a deep activation therefore is limited to a small group.  

 

The intention of this site is to be a voice for the Transformational messages of our time which include liberation, truth, empowering and awakening people.

Women's Journey to the Rainforest

Embracing the Divine Feminine*

Join us on a sacred journey of the heart to the womb of the Mother.  This journey will be steeped in ceremony and ritual.  

Thursday, November 4th: Group arrives in Quito and sleeps at the charming hotel, Casa Sol. 

Friday, November 5: Breakfast together at Casa Sol with introductory meeting and drive in chartered bus to Otavalo stopping along the way at the equator and a bird rescue sanctuary. Check into beautiful El Monastero de Cusin Inn. Explore the area, hike in Andes.

Saturday, November 6: Visit renowned indigenous artisan market seeing crafts and culture of the Otavalan Quichua people. Visit with a revered indigenous shaman for a healing and purification ceremony.

Sunday, November 7th: A beautiful drive descending the Andes through the avenue of the volcanoes, stopping at sites of interest along the way. The journey completes with the waterfall‐laden Pastaza river canyon, the gateway to the Amazon rainforest. Evening discussion circle about entering the rainforest at your hotel, El Jardin.

Monday, November 8th: Breakfast and drive a few miles to the small airport at Shell to fly 40 minutes into the heart of the Achuar rainforest territory arriving in an Achuar village where we will take a short motorized dug-out canoe ride to the Kapawi Lodge. The Lodge has won many eco-tourism awards, most recently being named by National Geographic Explorer as one of the top 50 eco-lodges in the world. After lunch we will hike around the Lodge with our Achuar guide. Dinner and rest.  

Tuesday, November 9th: Early morning dream sharing ceremony with Achuar in a local village, followed by the sharing of the traditional beverage, chicha, and conversation with the Achuar families to learn about the Achuar culture and customs. Free time for reflection, rest in hammock swimming, bird watching, etc.

Wednesday, November 10th: Morning forest hike with Achuar guide to learn about use of medicinal plants and Achuar cosmo‐vision. Visit Achuar village for overnight experience. Receive a traditional Achuar greeting. Spend time with community members learning about Achuar daily life and then some contemplative time with the rainforest in preparation for participating in an ancient shamanic ceremony that evening with an Achuar elder shaman. Sleep in the village.

Thursday, November 11th: Morning visit to river for a swim, debrief meeting with the shaman. A cultural exchange (feel free to bring small instruments, songs and dances for sharing) followed by a traditional Achuar feast. Return to Kapawi for rest, journaling, etc. then time on the river for floating and swimming - with the pink dolphins if we’re lucky . Return to Kapawi for rest and reintegration.

Friday, November 12th: Prepare for departure and goodbyes. Fly from Kapawi back to Puyo, meet the van with your luggage and drive on to Banos and lodging at the beautiful Luna Runtun mountain spa resort. Rest, soak in hot pools, receive spa treatments.

Saturday, November 13th: Relax and soak in the natural beauty of the mystical Langanates National Park. Optional massages, hiking, horseback riding, time for reflection.


Sunday, November 14th: Breakfast. Morning powerful closing circle overlooking Mt Tungurahua. Drive to Quito. Farewell dinner and celebration in Quito. Lodging at Casa Sol.


Monday, November 15th: Departures

Note: The cost of the trip includes all expenses within Ecuador (food, double accommodations, travel, guides and equipment) but does not include air travel to and from Ecuador or gratuities. Dates, prices, and itineraries are subject to change. We also offer a $300 discount to active Awakening the Dreamer Facilitators.

Travelers are encouraged to arrive a day or two early in Quito to acclimate, rest and relax at Casa Sol. Reservations and airport transfer can be made easily on Casa Sol’s website, www.lacasasol.com.
